About me
I always wanted to be self-sufficient. Grow my own food and create my own little ecosystem that didn’t rely on big businesses that already had plenty of money.
I don’t like money.
Don’t get me wrong – I’d love to have loads of it in my bank account and at my disposal. I just don’t like the divide it creates among people and the restrictions it places on those who don’t have much of it.
I’ve often thought, if I could just grow my own food, I would almost never need to spend money again (okay, I’m really overlooking my penchant for fun clothes, but I’m talking necessities here).
A few years ago, into my 50s, my partner found us a house in a small town and we purchased it and proceeded to renovate it into our own modest dream home.
Complete with a vegetable garden, tilled and planted from scratch. The plan is to grow enough organic food in our backyard that we won’t need those big supermarkets for much. Money saving and healthier!
I’ve just now finished year 2 of gardening & growing here, and we plan to expand my 30’ x 16’ plot to 30’ x 20’ next year. I learned a lot these past 2 years, made plenty of mistakes, and will continue to err and learn.
I want to share what I’m learning through this experience, and hopefully help some of you who want to do the same thing!
This blog will be a little bit country, very vegan, kind of witchy, and a little bit rock & roll. Planting and baking and crystals, oh my!
Welcome to Lilii’s Pad. 💮❤️
